You Must Meet these Minimum Requirements
 

  • A four-year degree from an accredited university or college is preferred.
  • A master’s degree and/or a CPA certification or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) is highly desirable.
  • Experience reviewing and evaluating accounting systems, procedures and regulations is a must
  • Systems analysis and design experience in any of the following areas must be highlighted:
    1. experience in assessing requirements for new or modified technical capabilities;
    2. experience in assessing requirements for new or modified technical capabilities for information technology systems operation, performing detailed systems design, preparing written specifications, and programming;
    3. experience in implementing financial controls, processes, and software; and,
    4. experience in resolving system production issues.
  • An understanding of government accounting and standard general ledger requirements is required
  • Must be able to work on several tasks simultaneously and to work independently without any higher-level coordination or direction for day-to-day activities.

  • Experience providing detailed guidance and support via professional e-mail correspondence and/or phone interactions directed to internal/external customers, staff, and management
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge and experience in Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Access
  • Strong analytical skills including but not limited to deep-dive fact finding and data analysis

Day-to-day Job Responsibilities include
 

The employee will provide Audit Distribution and Reconciliation support to The Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services (CGFS), Department of State (DoS), Charleston, SC for the Office Claims. The Office of Claims is responsible for Accounts Payable support for the Department of State.

Detailed job responsibilities include:

  • Update, run and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, created through Excel, Access DB, and Business Intelligence software directed to Management
  • Create, update, analyze, and correct vendor records crucial to timely payments
  • Able to learn, understand internal business processes regarding vendor management, payments and ISO 9001; and use this knowledge to troubleshoot vendor records and payment requests
  • Recommend, develop, present, and implement cost-effective solutions to the Department’s requirements.


Work Schedule
 

The employee will work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 6:15 am to 6:00 pm with a non-compensated 45-minute lunch (See your Project Manager for work schedule and department policies). Additional hours may be required and must be authorized by your Project Manager and DoS Management. Currently this is a hybrid position with 3 days teleworking and 2 days on-site.
